Acupuncture and Gastroparesis
Gastroparesis is a disorder that affects the normal motility of the stomach causing it to not empty properly. Symptoms of gastroparesis include pain in the abdomen, nausea, loss of appetite, belching and indigestion. Acupuncture is incredibly effective. In treating not only the symptoms of Gastroparesis, it helps to address the cause of the condition. Traditionally patients are told there is no known cure to correct this problem. Typically, gastroparesis causes range from being a side effect of diabetes to an injury to the vagus nerve, or autoimmune or nervous system disorders. Within six sessions, of acupuncture treatment, patients report a drastic decrease in symptoms. Many have an increase in appetite as their tolerating food much better.
